Definition of a mid-life crisis, anyone?

I fancy Sak Yant style. I don't really fancy a true sak yant tattoo. Hygiene is reportedly better than it used to be as regards the tattooing itself, but I hear it isn't great as regards the ancillaries (tissues for wiping excess blood etc)

I already have the pani mantra tattoo on the inside of my right ankle. If I 'wander' whilst meditating on the breath I figured it could help bring me back to the moment. But basically I just wanted a buddhist tattoo (is that an 'attachment'?)

Apparantly the traditional thai view is that they shouldn't be applied below the waist, but I figured I'm not thai or in thailand.

    "Namaste"?
    Namaste indeed...

I wanted Om Mani Padme Hum on my shoulder... so it would be there to do its job everytime I went out running... But I still haven't solved the attachment issue of it, so although I have a nice design it hasn't been done yet... And another I wanted is Tat Tvam Asi... for the same reason, I am still holding off...

I also have an idea for if I ever do a BGR... but at this rate, I am sticking with the piercings

Hmm at 16 I reckon you ought to leave it a couple of years, till its legal...

Don't worry tho', if you want it done the methods have come on to allow extremely small intricate work

(seriously! you can now get your eyelids tattooed...)

Thinking of a big piece on my side between my hip and armpit. Looking at a dancing Ganesh, a many-armed (anything between 18-1000) Buddha seated in a lotus flower, or a Day of the Dead mariachi guitar playing skeleton. The worrying thing is, as I'm struggling to decide, and narrow it down to one, I can see myself going to a tattooist and saying "gimme the works!".

Also thinking of getting my achievements on the inside of my bicep in a regimental battle honours scroll stylee. At the moment though, with just the MdS to my name, it'll look a bit lame.

I'm gonna give it some time, and if I'm still dallying with this idea in 6mo time or so, I might begin to take it seriously.

    Re: Tattoos

I think it would be practical....to maybe have my name, DOB and other information, perhaps allegies, blood group written across my left pec incase im found dead/unconsious.
Wouldnt be wise writing my adress or home number incase they change at any time...wouldnt want a big line through it all would i.

    Any more relevant info suggestions?

Favourite food for when i come-round in the hospital so they dont have to ask me what i want perhaps?

    Re: Tattoos

I arranged to have 'dog tags' made for the local MTB club once and the hospital told me the only information they were interested in was full name and date of birth. Anything else would be disregarded and the name and D.O.B would be used to find info from records.
