Thread: Today's Training

    Re: Today's Training

5 miles last night at as I'm guessing what you'd call a tempo run although my tempo is considerably slower

5 miles in 40 minutes which gives me a 10km target ime of 50.20 - wanting to break sub 50 on sunday (my 1st 10km!) not looking likely

Trying to get a pass out for Track tonight but chief babysitter (mother) is conveniently ignoring my texts!!! She's replied!! I have a pass!

    Re: Today's Training

I am very lazy on my training runs. Usually just jogging over the fells enjoying the view.
I also do a 7-8 mile run around Tatton Park which took me 67.02 a few weeks ago.
I decided to give this a real go a fortnight ago and got round in 56.38.
Heartened by this I tried even harder last week and did 52.15.
Going for under 52 minutes today if I can be bothered to drive to the park!
If I don't post again you will know I have failed miserably.

I will be very surprised if you don't do sub 50 for 10k. Is it Radcliffe 10K you're doing? You've just got to stay focussed on your km or mile splits. It helps if you know the course and if there are hills to know where they are in the race to adjust your split times.

    Good Luck!

It is Cath yes, whole new ball park for me so it will be a learning curve at least I've no idea of the course but it's 2 laps I believe so at least when I have done 1 lap I'll know what's coming up the next.

lets hope there are more down bits than up!

    Thanks

Hard work having raced twice at the weekend so didn't go under 52 minutes. Still a PB though, 52.02.
If I stick at this it should begin to show in my performance in races. I hope!

70 minutes up a well named Wet Sleddale to Mosedale Cottage then back over to Shap. Passed a sodden bunch of schoolkids hiking towards Swindale.

6.8 miles over the fields. First run since Saturday, but legs felt okay. Best start training again!
