Stick to the Tri-Berry flavour, the others ones don't taste too good especially the cola one, which is yak, only my opinion mind
    I'll second that.

I only got cramp occasionally before Helvellyn Tri one year, and then at the foot of the Struggle, when I stood on the pedals for the first time, my quads just stopped and I had to hang on to a wall to stay upright... couldn't get off the bike for an embarrassing couple of minutes...

...anyway, NUUNs are worth every penny and the cramp (whilst a very occasional annoyance) has been 99% sorted. Certainly worth a go.

    How's it all going Em?

Noooooooooooooooooo, you really have to have a totally +ve attitude.
The more you say things the more the brain starts to believe it will happen, start those +ve thoughts now, and sort out yer -veness!

I forgot to mention, although I did wish it to you, but as well as all the other stuff you need a bit of luck on the day as well.
So again, good luck to you all. Enjoy.

p.s. I thought you had to touch the Moot Hall prior to starting.

That's where I went wrong on my first two attempts must have put a hex on them.

Agree that luck does play a part - it only takes some sudden mist to descend and a nav error to lose a good slice of time. Or a lost set of keys or misplaced kit.

    Re: Bob Graham Round

I defo reccomend either Hammer Endurolytes or even better Sucseed tabs, I have used them in a last years UTMB, several whw and a few other 100milers, I prefer Sucseeds, 1 an hour compared to 2-4 Endurolytes needed an hour. Im a big guy at 15 stone plus, carrying quite a bit of muscle (this isnt to brag, just is important to this post) so what my body utilises will be different from a 10 stone fellrunner, I create quite a lot of heat and sweat a lot, thus losing alot of esseintial minerals/salts etc. Twice I have been struck by Hypontranemea (including my first BGR attempt back in 2003, saw a carpark with a few transit vans parked on the summit of Helvelyn, became obsessed with water, stomach swelled up and ended up in a right state, back then in 2003 nobody but the yanks seem to have heard about Hypontranemea. Then 70 miles into a 100miler in 2007 I collapsed and ended up in Hospital attached to a drip, again Hypontranemea) So this is worth researching, again everyone is different, some people can get round on Tarn water and crisps, but others will need to be more scientific with there diets, I am no expert, but I know what works for me after a lot of mistakes and alot of miles ran, experiment, and what you can stomach at 10 hours may be different again after 18 hours. Good luck.
I am having a go at an anticlockwise BGR in June
