Going to have a run up Beamsley Beacon and Round Hill later. See if I can find some more tussocks!

The banks of the ribble are thankfully tussock, heather and bog free although all the fields I run through do resemble those near the finish probably why I liked that bit!!

I think the talons were a big mistake yesterday as the souls of my feet are killing me today. 23 miles in them seemed a good idea at first, excellent grip, full range of movement, light etc but this morning = ow, ow, ow

Sorry to hear Emmi! Thats contrary to myself though, my feet ached a bit during the race, as they were getting bent and moved quite a bit on the rough stuff, but that eased throughout the race, and today they feel fine

    Deffo a Talon convert hehe

Yes, I was going to ask you how your's were as knew you wore them too yesterday. Found them great on the race and was chatting to a guy that nearly wore his but decided not to because of the distance. They were brilliant on the rocks and all the rough stuff and I do like the fact my feet feel 'free' but they are sadly suffering a bit from the lack of support - at least I think that's why they are sore....nothing to do with an 87 mile week!!!

I only really run in Walsh or Roclite 285 atm but suffer with sore feet. We were with a lad in grey 330s yesterday for a good while and he was skating on the Withins flags! The old 330s were a brilliant shoe - grippy and surprisingly comfie over long distance. Great for trogging!

I wasn't even going to contemplate running in those things.... spent most of the winter sliding about in them....

Some mileage there! I've been stepping mine up alot, since reading the training scheds of all the top athletes, they all put in between 70-120miles a week, which I didn't realise!

    Re: Wadsworth Trog

I ran in new 330's and found them perfect. My only other option would have been Flyrocs which I think again would have slipped on the Withins slabs. Managed to run alongside the slabs at a good pace faster than if i had been on them.

I am heavy on tread and thought I might have worn them down on the bits of road which are always further than I remember, but there appears little wear.

Wouldn't have wanted to run along the boundary wall in anything else. Think we were lucky most of the bog along there was frozen apart from the top inch of thaw..

Don't feel too bad at all today, in fact felt stiffer after the Pennine BR which was a much steadier run for me. As detailed under the AS moniker felt strong most of way round apart from the last hill after I caught the leading lady group (again) but then just faded after all the rushing to try to make up time cos of getting lost and couldn't get past them (again). I would be interested to see where the groups behind me at Cock hill but in front of me at the end finished.

I will be off for a 7/8 mile off road run today or possibly a cross bike ride.
