    Like Snooker, it would probably be ok as long as you kept one foot in contact with the ground while paddling across !!!

    I'm planning to pace/support a BGR attempt this June, if the bridge is still closed can we have an extension (say 15 mins) to the 24 hrs to cover the extra distance ?

    No problem if it's frozen... or you can walk on water.

    Think how much time could be saved if Derwentwater was completely frozen (as it was three weeks ago)

    Has anyone checked the footbridge upstream thats marked on OS maps?

    Failing that there is a marina in Portinscale
