Tuesday night Track - my 1st session (survived!)

Last night 10 miles off road on a wild goose chase looking for clues that were non existent and a river that someone moved good fun though and I had a parther who knew which way up to hold the map

Just back in from the best hour spent in AGES!!!! I had 60 minutes to kill and it being a lovely day an all decided to get my aged and decrepit Diamondback Topanga SE (yep - it's THAT old!!) out of the garage!

Managed 25km although spent most of my time faffing about chucking the thing over numerous stiles and gates, negotiating fields of cows and deciding which way to go! Next time I'll take a map as had absolutley no idea where I was or which way to go so a few about turns were needed

What a blast though - got muddy and everything!!

Not sure I'll be able to hide that as easily as a pair of walsh's though

    4.5 miles of intervals.
Using the Garmin for first time in anger. Spent forever analyzing the results back at home.
Discovered that my friends mile measurements are 0.02 and 0.04 short! But with 10 years of use to compare he says he's gonna stick with the short course.

GPSs will often tell you that a course is slightly short, because they straighten curves.

They also aren't much cop for short straight lines. I've a measured course of 349.89 metres, and if I have the GPS on it's often 10m out either way.

    Re: Today's Training

Did a quick 52 miles on the bike today and GPS came back with a few funny readings. Map showed me cutting accross some fields on the way back (not) and one piece of software showed a max of 28mph and another showed 35mph which was probably correct. Anyway a bike and a run tommorow and hopefully a top up of the tan looking at the forecast.

Thats interesting because the second mile (0.04 short on the Garmin) is certainly more bendy than the first.
The 400m course we always use was measured with a wheel and comes out at exactly 0.25miles on the Garmin.
I'm certainly very impressed with it so far. Am a bit scared to use it on my 13 and 10 miles routes as I sometimes have been just a few seconds under the hour on the 10. Perhaps (hoping) it will be long though eh?

5.5 miles including 5x 0.4 at 10k pace with 90s recovery and 2x 0.4 lung burstingly fast (for me). Warm up and down over the fields. Really enjoyed it!
