What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

    If you could see me,
The face of an old tired,
    Beat up old man,
    Just wanting one last,
    Hurrah,
    But your not there you,
    No longer come and,
    Watch so i drown,
    Myself in liquor,
    Just waiting for the end,
    With one last effort,
I walk out it goes black,
    The spotlight shines,
Stop me if you have heard this .......

The classic "life" poem. Always worth a read.

There is still 9 weeks to the AW, so you'll be just fine. The adrenaline will kick in on race day and you'll have a great day I'm sure.

Agreed. You'll be fine (you might not be able to get up and down stairs for a day or two afterwards but hey ho). Wish I could make it to the inaugural FPS get-together

    Re: Today's poet

Hmm... life is like...... let's leave it to the Pythons to tell us....

Why are we here? What's life all about?
Is God really real, or is there some doubt?

Well, tonight, we're going to sort it all out,
For, tonight, it's 'The Meaning of Life'.

What's the point of all this hoax?
Is it the chicken and the egg time? Are we just yolks?

Or, perhaps, we're just one of God's little jokes.
Well, ça c'est le 'Meaning of Life'.

Is life just a game where we make up the rules
While we're searching for something to say,

Or are we just simply spiralling coils
Of self-replicating DNA. Nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay.
In this 'life', what is our fate?
Is there Heaven and Hell? Do we reincarnate?

Is mankind evolving, or is it too late?
Well, tonight, here's 'The Meaning of Life'.
For millions, this 'life' is a sad vale of tears,

Sitting 'round with rien nothing to say

While the scientists say we're just simply spiralling coils
Of self-replicating DNA. Nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay.
So, just why-- why are we here,

And just what-- what-- what-- what do we fear?
Well, ce soir, for a change, it will all be made clear,
For this is 'The Meaning of Life'. C'est le sens de la vie.
This is 'The Meaning of Life'

Afterwards doesn't matter. We'll carry you to the bar Freckle.

We'll raise a glass to you DT. We know you'll be there in spirit.

Evening OW. I hope the world is treating you well. A good choice there. I think I've still got their CD in the car. I'll stick it on tomorrow.
