    The Children Of The Poor

What shall I give my children? who are poor,
Who are adjudged the leastwise of the land,
Who are my sweetest lepers, who demand
    No velvet and no velvety velour;
But who have begged me for a brisk contour,
Crying that they are quasi, contraband
Because unfinished, graven by a hand
Less than angelic, admirable or sure.
My hand is stuffed with mode, design, device.
But I lack access to my proper stone.
And plentitude of plan shall not suffice
Nor grief nor love shall be enough alone
To ratify my little halves who bear
    Across an autumn freezing everywhere.

I really like this, I don't understand every line but the general gist is very thought provoking.

    coughing, sluttering
whether I should run or not?
    that is the question

    Life is a bit like
    a rollercoaster, you're up
    then you're down, then you're....

Yesterday between printmaking classes I had the most lovely run up onto the moors:

    the sinking sun glows
    snow churned to soft buttermilk
    blue shadows lengthen

Then today I have been scared stiff driving to drop car off and biking back. Another spill and another bruise. I am so sick of black ice.

    windy road glistens
the sun not yet high enough
    to melt the danger

If you're coughing, then 'sluttering' should definately be on hold, whether you run or not!

Tricky one DT. I had the same last week and trained hard sounding like I smoked 40 a day afterwards but felt totally better the next day. Either way, take care and wrap up warm.

This has not been a winter for motorcyclists! Hope you're ok, and very impressed that by the time you have finished sliding down the road, there's already a Haiku sorted.
    Right - back to work....

    a sponteously combusting washing machine
    and flooded kitchen
not to worry freckles and mini freckles all OK
and have survived to live another day
backyard now resembles step toe and son
