It was a bit of a mare the other day when the snow was down, especially with worn studs.............

I only posted my entry on Tuesday - how will I know if I've got an entry or not? Is there some one I should email?

Not sure how they are going to route this race this weekend.

Still massive drifts down the wall side from CP1 into the stream gulley which makes for interesting running

But as for the rest of the course...fast, very fast!

Been up there a few times lately, and getting down and across the stream has been "interesting" with those drifts!

Not sure what conditions have been like over the weekend, but we went up on Friday, got caught in absolute blizzards, knee-high soft snow on the top, and we made a hasty retreat off Big End.

Hoping this weekend is going to be a bit easier!!

I was up on Ilkley Moor yesterday where it was mostly just mud, and could see Pendle like a big White Whale on the horizon.

I wondered what it would be like close up - let's hope for warmer weather and maybe a little rain before Saturday

I'd prefer heavy fog and a medium covering of snow please. Come the barbecue summer you'll all be anchoring for a bit of cold and good old fog!

Re: Half Tour of Pendle 2010

We had a good day up there yesterday in the snow. quite deep in places with a tiny topping of ice, which = red shins for those of us not sensible enough to don full length bottoms.
Runnable in most bits with a few fantastic snowy descents. Stream crossings were ok, all in all a great day out.
