Runnable in most bits with a few fantastic snowy descents. Stream crossings were ok, all in all a great day out.
    Are leggings recommended for Saturday?

Does wearing them not offend any fell runners etiquette?

It probably does, you know what these nutters are like, but suffice to say I'll be wearing leggings, unless the forecast changes dramatically. If it's anything like Saturday & yesterday it'll be rather chilly. I'm not bovvered about looking 'ard, I just want be relatively warm .

It will need a big thaw to get rid of all the snow & it's not looking like that's going to happen (source: Metcheck!), & if it does go then it'll be an even bigger quagmire than usual!

Is there any news on whether the 300 limit has been reached?

is it worth us putting an entry in the post now today (1st march) or just entering on the day?

    thanks

Alfa, i did the route on sunday and the first climb from buttocks farm there was deep snow in places which made it extremely hard work from checkpoint 1 to 3 it is quite good the trod is pretty clear so is quite fast running, Geranimo is still covered in snow though so fell shoes are a must and even then your still struggling

Daleside, think you would be better ringing the organiser. They are not to familiar with technology & the FRA Forum. Barrie Walmsley

    Half Tour of Pendle

Can you enter this race on the day?
As I have left it too late to pre enter

Take a look at the 1/2 tour race thread as it has been mentioned on there. Answer is possibly, will depend on number of pre entries and if you can it usually costs twice as much.

Your best off contacting the organiser mate, not heard anywhere that its full, and with the many other races on that day, it would be fair to say, there might be some places left, but check first.

If you go to the Clayton website there is a number to contact about helping with the half tour on the homepage...maybe that person might know?

    Can't see any other numbers.

It's not so much for the cold you need the leggings (unless of course it does get colder). We were up on Sunday and stood up by CP1 taking in the views we all commented on how mild it was up there. Obviously this might change though. It was more to protect your shins from getting scraped as they carve into and back out of the snow, particularly if it freezes again, as this will give the snow a nice sharp scrape-your-flesh-off crust. Course, this gives some nice war wounds to show off after the race!

Why so Al? It's all fairly tame, snow on that section not too bad.
