Yes you can choose your own route between checkpoints except for the bit from Ashway Stone to Chew Res via Foxstone Cairn wher we have made the route diversion.

Ta for that - much scheming going on now. Having worked my way around the course I now am unable to find the finish line....I can see Intake Lane on the map but there's no GR for Intake Farm on the website. Any ideas, anyone? I need to make sure I direct the paparazzi to the right place for my epic descent.

The name of the farm is Kinder Intake (014031) and the finish is in the lane that leads down from the farm to the reservoir which comes out about 100m from the sailing club.

What a fab, fab event! Perfect day for it in the untypical sunshine but tough going underfoot in the latter parts, especially the last stretch to Alphin. Nasty descent that too. All the tussock and snow made it really energy-sapping. Started off to quick (as usual) and kn*cked myself going up to Alderman CP1.

Great to see some of you forumites either racing or on the course.

Thanks to all concerned at Saddleworth and MR, a great race that. Can we not have to wait another 10 years before this race is run again please???

Great race, thanks to all at Sadds who made it possible, thanks to the marshalls, nice to see some familiar faces either racing or just out there on the course.

    Cheers

What a great day for a pootle around the Saddleworth edges! The Chew Reservoir arctic tundra was a particular treat - some pics below for those that were too knackered at that point to have a good look.

Follow the link to pics of the leaders, Pennine FRs and one or two glimpses of the lovely scenery:

Thanks very much to everyone who made this fantastic race possible. My legs & feet are whacked but that was brilliant!!
