    I've looked at the Grough route and its slightly different over Fleet Moss to previous routes I've taken but think its much of a muchness really. Nice to see a well plotted route at last !

    From various descriptions it sounds like Fleet Moss could be hard work. Not one for recce'ing but may check this bit out.

    Would I be right in thinking there are around 20 checkpoints that must be visited, but beyond that route choice is open to the individual (although I guess for the most part it's probably fairly limited)?

    There are a handful of mandatory bits and pieces, listed in the handbook, but mostly it's up to the individual

    If anyone fancies doing a checkpoint ,the Middle Tongue one is short of a couple of inmates , have a look at the Fellsman website > news

    I did the Dodd Fell one a few years ago with Mrs D and it feels good to put some thing back into the event

    The checkpoint is just beyond this swamp.

    It could be dry this year, if so will it be quicker to bash through it or navigate around?
