Oh nothat's not good. Can understand the easying of the workload but had really hoped someone could run in my place.
I think he means because in previous years the entry was open for the race post January, in this case it was last October/November time.
Had we had a mild winter and plans were on schedule I wouldn't have hesitated to do it as am not injured etc however with a BG only 7 weeks away it makes more sense to get to the lakes if I canSadly I couldn't predict the snow.
YukWent round 2nd half early this morning. Icy wind, rain, then sleet then snow. Soaked through & frozen within first 1/2 hour. Conditions underfoot were pretty crap too.
Managed all of it ok except racing line to Crowden clough where i somehow dropped back onto the path. Sideways sleet & frozen fingers meant couldn't be bothered with the compass & was so sure I was heading in the right directionAnyone know if the racing line is still a viable option with all the snow? Was really hoping to have a good look at this section but had lost the will to live at this point.
Just back from scrummy pub lunch & feeling much better about this mornings efforts now![]()
I tried to find that line last month in snow and fog and ended up back on the path within about 350 yards. I'd obviously not gone far enough on the bearing, but decided that fog with path was better than fog and no path.
