Thanks for cheering us on, I was running with Merrylegs and Emmilou. Just had the best day and most tiring, I feel totally knackered now. Didn't expect to do a sub 6 hours but we did - Daz, oh ye of little faith!!

Big thanks to Emmilou, Steve and Colin for all your encouragement, I would have been a lot slower had I not had you three to chase. Thanks Brett for all your hard work in putting the event on.

Aye, nice to see the Crumblies and new wuffler
Top run DT, you were strong all the way round, emmi ran like a tireless machine, good to see her bounce back from last week's blip.
Mrs Stagger and my old boss Colin both put in solid efforts, thanks folks for dragging me round, didn't think i'd be able to stay with you when you caught me at Widdop, couldn't go with DT and his mate when they passed me near the start. Grand day out, thanks Brett and helpers and that ugly old woman in the car park

Running on empty at the end mate, enjoyed it though, bit of a confidence booster, going to drag myself out for a recovery run tomorrow no matter what

Nice one to Brett for organising the event, these things must be a labour of love. Lovely to see emmilou again who i haven't seen since XOTF and nice to see Merry and DJ, haven't met tussockface yet but i'm sure we'll bump into one another some day.

We had a bit of a water crisis at the Mankinholes YHA checkpoint, half an hour in it was almost gone and we had no refill so i had to go scrounging. I wandered into the YHA where i was greeted by a well spoken college student whom it turns out was with the Cambridge College Brass Band, i explained our urgency and we made our way round to the kitchen where we were met by a spotty american girl. "Do you work here?", i asked, "do i look like i work here?" she replied. I didn't answer but let's just say it as a round peg round hole situation. After interrupting the brass band's washing up twice with a pop bottle i secured access to an outside tap accross the road for which i am grateful to the owner, by the time the sweepers passed we had gone through just short of 100 litres .

The donuts proved very popular, however the same cannot be said for the biccies most of which were reloaded into my Volvo for the return journey. If anybody is stuck for biscuits at the moment, Brett is currently overstocked .
