Merry next time you tell me you've done no training andhave just been driving a van i'll tie your shoe laces together and maybe stick a friendly foot out!
Nice to see you and Mrs.S - thanks for the offer of a piggy bank near the end - i blew up after Heptonstall and couldn't really get it back but did really enjoy it.
Didn't see Derby though but sounds like he did ok.
Now i'm off to empty the house of alcohol to numb the aching calfs.

Tis the truth mate, running on residual training fumes at the mo, thanks for not taking me up on the piggy back offer
Well done David, enjoy the house alcohol emptying, you've earned it

My sincere thanks to Colin, Linda and Emma for checking on my wellbeing after I came off second best with the path on the decent after Widdop rendering my right shoulder "inoperative". The remaining 25 miles of pain in the race was nothing compared to the 200+ mile drive back to Edinburgh. On my return my wife (an ex-nurse) examined my "wound" and despite my obviously distressed state, declared it nothing worse than a bit of a bang, provided no sympathy and promptly went out for the evening with her friends!!

Also thanks to Brett and all his team for a fantastically organised race and also to the kids at the school for making such a lovely array of cakes and other goodies - sponge cake truly dulls the pain of an injured shoulder !!!

Glad it wasn't too serious although you were running a bit lopsided at one point!

Had a great day out, loved the run, the company, the scenery etc makes getting up at silly o'clock more than worthwhile.

Thanks to all involved and apologies to those that had to put up with my endless whittlin on all the while, that and the singing!

Great to see everyone, hope all are recovering I'm glad to say I finished as fresh as a daisy....just as well really!

Hope all the injured peeps get better soon

Thanks Emmilou - I think for "runnning a bit lopsided at one point" should be substituted by "running for 25 miles in a manner which put as little weight on the right side of my body"!

When you and the forumite crew passed ckpt 3, you all looked as if you were barely out of breath, sickening really but pretty impressive. Glad it didn't get too hard for you later on. Big respect for just even doing it.....
