On my return my wife (an ex-nurse) examined my "wound" and despite my obviously distressed state, declared it nothing worse than a bit of a bang, provided no sympathy and promptly went out for the evening with her friends!!

Also thanks to Brett and all his team for a fantastically organised race and also to the kids at the school for making such a lovely array of cakes and other goodies - sponge cake truly dulls the pain of an injured shoulder !!!
Glad you're ok and hope there's no lasting damage, you certainly took a tumble.

    Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Thanks Merry and Mrs S - it's actually stinging quite a bit now. If only I had the luxury of waiting until the morning for that sensation to kick in !

Did it! Can't quite believe I've run a 32 mile race. Hard work, of course, but not completely knackered - finished 15 mins faster than we expected, so new lucky pink trail shoes must have counteracted our race number (13). Now realise who Mr Brightside is (doling out the juice at Mankinholes) and Anitsocial (if that was the "lady" in the car park). We had a slight nav hiccup dropping down to the main road before the ascent to Mankinholes and a very helpful gentleman near the end kept us on track, otherwise pretty smooth going.

Thanks to all for organising, especially the marshalls and my partner for making me run when I didn't really want too!

    What's next???

Thanks a million to Brett and all of the team at Haworth, with a special mention for the team dishing out the corpse-reviving tea and stew - you're all stars.

Brilliant day, brilliant organisation, brilliant route. I can't believe that it's taken me 55 years to come up with something this enjoyable to celebrate my birthday
