    Thumbs up Re: three peaks

Perfect weather today, prefer that to last month's horizontal hailstones at Edale.

Was pleased to take 16 mins off last year's time and get under 3:30. Unable to attempt fastest descent off Ingleborough because of cramp setting in! That accolade could go to highest placed debutant Mr Bolland with 29 minutes, well done. I think I will sponsor a new trophy for that.

Weren't there 3 to count for men's open team last year, but 4 this year?

I hope our foreign brethren won't mind getting their feet wet next year.

Many top performances and PBs set today, well done everyone.

3:56 for me had a bit of a mare up inglebugger when on for about 3:45 felt like I was going to die. 119th place and only 3 minutes slower than what I was aiming for so can't complain really. Not bad for a first ever attempt.

    Re: three peaks

    Was aiming for a PB:

Slightly slower up Penyghent than I had bargained for then pulled back the time by Ribblehead and then got further and further ahead of schedule to finish in 4:26, beating my PB by a massive 28mins!!

The weather really didn't suit us big blokes the run across to Ribblehead just seemed to suck energy out of me.

Hope everyone else did as well as they hoped.

4:49 for me. Very pleased with that and don't feel too bad (yet), I think the Ann Waltz was good preparation.

Good to meet a few more forumites - Brett, Manhar and FITC. Think I spotted Moo too.

Like last year, another epic battle with the demon cramp - despite taking all available precautions (tonic water, isotonic drinks, ibuprofen, tiger balm, prayers) got struck down with it up whernside and then it was tough all the way back. Still absolutely delighted to knock 4 minutes off last year's time and got round in 3-34.

Interesting to read about everyone else's battles with cramp. It hit me on the climb up Ingleborough, and I suffered with it on and off to the finish. This was the first time on this race for me, and I was pleased to finish in 4:08, four minutes inside my target.

    Upset and distraught

Didn't see JJ at all, and I really did look for that whip.

    Met a few other forumites

    Manhar
    SlipperStones
    Marvin
    Denzil
    Hot dog With his bell
    Also ran

I did look for others but they must have been in front.

    Too fast again up Penyghen
Suffered up Whernside when every man and his dog went passed.
Got to Hill inn where my feet were patched up by the Paramedics Thanks guys
From there I got a new lease of life running most of the way up.
From the top I thought my legs felt good but every time i let them go CRAMP!
I still passed about 20 on the descent though.
    Quite happy with my time
Approx 40 mins better than my previous best
    4.30.12

Big thanks to the hundreds of Marshals-MR-Supporters etc
It will make an excellent World Champs next year
