Forecast for sunday is 11deg and wet!

Just about the worst weather to be carrying/using a compulsory fully taped waterproof

I know it's an old whinge and i don't want to get anyone too excited/quarrelsome. I just wish we could come up with an alternative to cover for the stationary injured runner scenario. How about allowing pertex top + foil blanket as an alternative?

Oh, hush your moaning. It's hardly any weight/bulk with modern waterproofs and it's the same for everyone. Just get on with it.

Cheers Nikalarse, you took the 'excited/quarrelsome' point on board there then

Don't care about the weight/bulk, as you point out, it's the same for everyone.

The obvious (?) point was that the expected weather would make it very uncomfortable and sweaty to run in a full waterproof, whereas a pertex style windproof would be much more effective in keeping the runner dry. The addition of a foil blanket in the bumbag would help protect the runner against heat loss in case they are reduced to a walk by an injury.

Did you get it this time?

Do you want me to use shorter words, perhaps draw a diagram for you?

I regularly run in a pertex and carry a decent cag. Best of both worlds! And, as you say Andy, pertex is dead light, great for running in - you hardly notice the extra. And you've still got a bit of decent kit to walk off in should you trash an ankle.

Whos kit checking at this one ????
If its Ian then just put a canoe in to make sure. You can always ditch it later.

Coming up from Brighton to do this again. Last two years conditons have been great; is this year going to be more like 2007 undefoot (which I remember as being very wet)? So long as we don't get the wind, snow, hail and cold from that year I'll be happy.

Cheers and see you Sunday - Raymond

    Hmmmmmm

I'm a slower runner (certainly will be by GK) and a fair climber.

BUT. I'm a cr*p descender with glass ankles.

I'll stick to the edges again.
