    Re: Jelly Babies

For long, off-road runs my Mrs has been bringing a bag of eggy bread / gypsy toast / french toast (whatever you consider correct nomneclature).

Obviously it's cold by the time you get around to troughing it; but it's bl**dy lovely when you're hanging-out.

All washed down with a bottle of water, chia seeds, honey and lime juice.

Just noticed that they have a very long 'use by' date too so its possible to stock up on them.

Now who do I speak to at Ella's Kitchen about commissions?
they'd sold out of half the range but got a Bananna breckie to try and an Organix squeezy Mango, Pear and Orange

now if I can find some one to run round with a clean bib....

Damn it, there's been a run on squeezable baby food! Just been to Tesco and supplies are dwindling!

The Baby Brekkie might become a new pre-race staple for me. Actually it tastes good enough to become an everyday pre-office staple!

17.5 miles over Burley & Ilkley Moor with 2 stops for baby food. I took the banana, yogurt & powdered brown rice & it was far more enjoyable than any gel I've ever had. Still had it alongside a handful of yogurt coated raisins. My brother-in-law had to wind me after about 12 miles & thinks I will be on solids within the year.

Sportsmen, dieters and OAPs opt for baby food

Did he have to change your nappy at mile 15 then put you to bed for a nap at the end?

I used baby food sachets on a mountain marathon last year (both the fruit and the mashed up meals) the only thing is that as its made for babies there absolutely no salt, only realised this when I got hit by cramps

Just bought some Organix Carrot Cake bars from Asda. All they have in them are wholegrain oats, raisins, carrot juice & orange oil. Sound perfect for a long run. I'm definitely moving away from the gels. Baby food is the future ! I might try racing in a nappy too. No more loo stops on the off road marathons.
