    Car Parking

Arrangements have been made for car parks for the event. The Pay and Display Car Park should be left free for Edale's normal Sunday tourist trade, thereby not depriving local businesses of their income.

As you arrive in Edale village centre you will be directed to the parking areas to be used. Please follow the directions of the parking marshals on the day. The areas you will be directed to is free of charge to runners and helpers.

Having literally just returned from Edale despite posts to the contrary, the ground in Edale is nowhere near being waterlogged, and having just had a site meeting with the farmer, we do not anticipate any problems with people getting stuck in the parking field. Quote "Not as wet as you've had it in the past"

The main parking area is a short walk away from Registration in the Village Hall. It is probably advisable to take your kit with you for IDP's kit check when you go to register.

The forecast is for a breezy, sunny day (unfortunately!). Hope you all have fun

    Cheers

    Thanks Greg

    Re registration and kit check.

Please register first as you will need your race number with the kit check. there will be a kit requirement list up by registration and kit check.

there is also a spot check later before the start so no dumping gear after kitcheck as you will be 15 minutes away from carpark and will miss the start.

There are spot checks at the end for those who appear to be carrying nothing.

    Last minute tip folks
When you park , take your kit with you to be checked or you will end up just walking back to your car, and its gets backed up a bit. All down to IDP with his thorough checking system.

For the ones who are panicking about the cut off, DONT. The race is going to be a hard slog up to Brown Knoll. It wont be wise to use everything up before Mam Nick.

It's a fell race, isn't it? I'd suggest fell shoes.

Cloud's now lower than the top of stannington here, so probably less than 300m....

    Re: Edale Skyline 2010

As promised in the forecast, wall to wall sunshine all day, pretty dry underfoot and lots of smiling, tired people at the finish.

Great to meet Manhar, who relieved me at the parking field, marshalling I mean.

IDP's kit check was generous this year with windproof kit allowed and definitely suited to the conditions.

Just went in the co-op in Bradwell on the way home to get my ibuprofen and stella, and I'm sure I just bumped into Daz H coming out with his can of Coke and his packet of ten fags. That must be the secret to his high performance... Mind, it's a long drive back to Ilston.

Excellent day, well organised (thanks AndyJ) and rivers of tea and mountains of cakes at the end.
