A decent day and perfick weather for a fell race. Brown Knoll was actually not to bad to run up to. The bogs seemed okay.
After managing to run all the way up lose hill I decided I must be going okay so I pushed on a bit.
Got caught at the end by Matt, great finish from him.
Yes Grimmer it was me at the shop.

Well done to everyone today. Yes Ian I knew you wasnt far behind at Win Hill. Well done on your time.
Tried for a sub 3hr 10 myself but not quite. Big thanks to Helen A and John Jod en route. Much appreciated support.

Who was the lady on the stretcher at the end, my heart went out to her. Just had to lend a hand and hope you are okay Kate. The Mountain Rescue boys really do kow there stuff.
Def a day for vest only. It was quite hot.

Yes Ian its diff toget an advantage Woolpacks only

I'll try and get an update on Kate (unless she a Forumite?) and let you know, I suspect she will be very sore tomorrow.

Dark Peak website claims : "21miles, 4,500 feet of climb - at least!"
Therein lies the rub with this modern technology it becomes about the machine/gizmo and not about the run

A grand day out for my first Skyline. Many thanks to Andy, Ian and all the many marshalls, St Johns, cooks and all others whose names I'll never know.
Lovely weather, Brown Knoll not as terrifying as I'd feared. Bonked a bit after GK, but still safely under 4 hrs, so very happy for an oldish sort of bloke, though I've realised I can't do downhill any more. Too many old injuries threatening to spoil the morrow.

A superb day out, many thanks to all the marshalls and those involved with race organisation. The food afterwards in the village hall was most welcome.
Thanks to the marshall who gave me a jelly baby at Brown Knoll it carried me through the climb up to the Pagoda. Judging by the colour of his shorts I'm geussing it was green flash who passed me as I went back to collect it.

I was pleased to finish inside 4 hours as I had a torrid time from the top of Jacob's ladder to Grindslow knoll.
But thoroughly enjoyed it in a retrospective kind of way.

I did wonder what could possibly have induced you to turn on your heels and head back up toward the trig ...
