    Have you seen them?

It looks like they drew them out of a hat.

Not sure about that Witton - but it looked like they were using electronic timing on Saturday.

I guess it's an organisers dilemma really isn't it?

Do you go for the new technology in an effort to get results up ASAP but then run the risk of coming across technological problems - or do you stay with the traditional but slower methods?

    It seemed to work!
I'm prepared to do 6am breakfast for something like the MMM, but for a 5K no way! So it will be cereal bar option if I ever get round to trying one (I've printed off my bar code, but that's all!). thanks

Same here. Contemplating doing one this Saturday though, if I don't end up doing a session.

You shoud read some of the threads on eightlane.

John Schofield and Graham Fecitt are held in extremely high esteem. Graham used to have the major events (and still does where he is involved) on line before you got home on the evening of the race - all based on Manual.

Since they have moved to chip timing, more errors have crept in, and more delays.
Some notable events have taken 48 hours before you get a sniff of the results with chip timing.

They did use chip timing at the English Schools - and I think something went wrong in the distibution or something. As I say, the order of athletes seems has no relevance to the order in which they finished.

Lost my parkrun virginity today. Must say I was impressed with the organisation and the event as a whole.

Must agree with the above. These are great (free) low key events which are helping me to regain fitness. My times are slowly improving but still have some way to go to catch sight of Swoop or Danbert.
