First time for me. Fantastic race, well organised and supported and the food was brilliant. Took it easy on the first half particularly after I twisted my ankle on the run down after Jaggers Clough. Hit the cut off at 2:13 and then motored in to finish within a few seconds of 4 hours. Not sure whether it was plus or minus. Picked up a couple of gel wrappers on the way around. They had been carefully folded up so i assume they fell out of a pocket/pack rather than being discarded.

Big thanks to the organisers and the marshals and the club for their efforts in putting this event on

Had a good day out yesterday, unfortunately I hadn’t been able to get enough training in so retired at the mam nic cut off, even though I made it in time.

Then had a quick trot back down to Edale and up to the finish where I took some photos.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the lady on the stretcher recovered well enough to collect a prize. So, all ended well.

A big thankyou to all at the club who helped to organise the race.

Did see someone getting stretchered off at the end - I take it the lady was one of the runners. Looked serious, hope she recovers quickly.
Feet fine legs have that nice ache about them. I'll run it off tonight. You are coming aren't you???

The lady left last night to return home. I think she will be very sore this morning.

    You lot are all beasts..

For some reason i struggled the whole way round from the top of RR.. Not sure why but just felt aweful the whole way round.

Finished in little over 4 hours (which was slower than my full training run 5 weeks ago). So plenty of work to do for next year..

My legs are not too bad. Straight after i finished i scoffed a can of coke and then straight to pub for a shandy (yeah i don't seen to be able to handle a full fat beer). But it helped relax my leg muscles so i'll be out on the road after work today or tomorrow.

Also a massive thank you to the organisers and everyone that helped make the event run smoothly. A job well done.

Hope to meet some of you Dark peak guys soon when i finally get round to joining.

Nope, night off. My wife'll crucify me if I even hint at running tonight and leaving her and the kids again!

I went straight to the Nag's Head too and spent my emergency fiver on 'rehydration'. Left a pile of peat by the bar, they seemed to accept this as normal.
A jovial chap with a beard and an Edale Mountain Rescue helmet assured me that what I needed was a young Thai girl to give me a massage. I ran that past Mrs Brotherton Lad when I got home, but she didn't agree.

For those of you taking note. YOU CAN pick a good line going up to Brown Knoll.
Yes there are better lines if you stick left a bit. Particulary just as you start the final climb to the top, you drop down a bit then climb again. Always always stay left, it saves you going in that ultra boggy bit.
Just thought I would mention that after the race.

A big thankyou to the marshall who provided the ladder at the barbed wire fence after the descent off lose hill. Nice touch
