I can't remember - have blanked it all now (this is where I was about to hurl) apart from the nice rocky zig zaggy bit at the end!!

Currently having to shuffle thanks to the aches in calf and quad muscles. The cycle to work this morning was fairly slow as well.
Yes, I remember that! Glad it's not just me then. My legs were bad yesterday, today I can hardly walk!! Finished in about 4h 17m.

I remember looking down to my right and seeing you and another lady runner running through the tussocky stuff on the more direct line and then a couple of youngsters who were watching from the path shouting 'where are they going!?', and a bloke saying 'it's a shortcut!', and the kids shouting back 'No it's not, that's rubbish!!'

I'd be surprised if I passed you. My bad patch started somewhere between Rushup Edge and Brown Knoll and finished at Ringing Roger! Finish time 4h 17m.

I finished in 4'17'' as well and remember hearing you asking if that was Ladybower below us. I was a few yards ahead of you at the time - I wonder which of us crossed the line first?

The Skyline was one of the hardest races I've done so far. I'd been suffering from flu (the real variety, not man-flu) for a couple of weeks previously and was in two minds whether or not to run. I'm glad I did (despite feeling rough as a badger's bum for most of the trip) although I can't say I really enjoyed the experience - my legs were just soooo heavy right from the first ascent. I had to dig deep to persuade myself not to drop out. I guess that's part of the challenge of fell running. Otherwise I'd have stayed at home eating burgers and watching telly as my life drifted away.

So despite my subsequent aches & pains, a MASSIVE thanks to the race organisers, marshalls, well-wishers and fellow runners. You all made it worth getting out of bed for! And the curry I treated myself to on Sunday evening in order to replenish my energy/fat reserves was the cherry on the top of the Edale cake!

I may well have seen you as i came off the top of RR. I asked if you had gone up and down, but to start with i just thought you were going to wrong way as i was a bit confused!! I got in just in front of you (4.03)..

And by the way, my bad patch lasted from the top of RR right round. For some reason i felt bad the whole way round... Looking forward to next year though..

Yes I led Mary and Em through the rough stuff, but cramp set in and the two ladies went ahead. I then took the shortcut round the Woolpacks and came out at Crowden Clough ahead of them and several others who'd taken the long way round. Overtook another group approaching Grindslow Knoll.

I'm just in front of you FFR in this photo on the approach to Brown Knoll.

P.S. Where did you get the Bowland vest?

    We finished very close together.

Someone who did the down and up arrived at RR as I got there and then finished ahead of me - any idea who it was? He said his route paid off.
