Those vids appear to show that a metronomic pace and a pair of sticks seem to be good allies in completing the BGR. Each shot showed Gary moving at pretty much the same pace right through.
Impressive and inspirational stuff - nice one!

PS - not sure if i can bring myself to use sticks after years of berating them
I've rarely used sticks, but they definitely improve pace on gradual ascents. if your legs are totally shot at the end, they are also good for descents. I'd at least ask your pacers to take them.
