Most impressive Steve and great to see someone fast trying these runs
You'd think you were training for something longer

It had been raining all night so underfoot conditions were very slow
A bit of an understatement, there were about 16 flood warnings in Cumbria on Monday, it was battering down

    Thanks, Bill.
Yes the plan is to have another attempt at the Lakes 24 hour record (78 peaks) in late June. Although i was tired after 8 hours, I would find another 16 hours hard.

I'm curious... did you set off in the evening because you thought it might take much longer than it did, or was it purely for the sake of the additional challenge?

Well I went back and did the Cumbrian Traverse in daylight.

Took 8:59 in glorious weather, fells very busy until Gable then met no one else.

My wife met me at road crossings pity I didn't pick up my food at three shire stone, had a coke/water and a banana there which I can tell you now is enough energy for two hours.

Started coming round after Honister even managed a sprint to the Moot hall to get under 9 hours (8:58:56)

Will have to do it again some time was a great day out.

Good effort! This is definitely on my list of long runs for the year.

    Good work Bill,

Was thinking of maybe having a go at this in a couple of weekend's time.

Are there any good resources on the route you can point me to ?
