There were a few midges around in the Cairngorms last week but they weren't biting. I think they only start eating people later in the season when they start to breed? But may be wrong
yes and stove/pan and some food, not taking loads though as therell be food there to buy and think theres food in morning to buy for breakfastHave you got any of the tent in there?
Is there really food in the morning too? I've already packed my breakfast jaffa cakes. Anyone know what the food in the evening is like? I'm expecting wilfs style veg stew. And is the stuff about them selling beer a joke?
If it's anything like last year there will be plenty of bottled beer to buy at overnight camp so take some cash. When you've drunk all that you can join in the Ceilidh.

thats what i was told by someone who did it year before, when we did it we had to pull out so didnt get to finish, could always take b'fast and leave it in car if there is breakfast available at overnight camp. Yes therell be beer/wine/whisky etc, help with the sleeping!

Wasn't that something? Two days of perfect weather in one of the most spectacular areas in the Highlands. And I think apart from competitors we saw no more than a handful of people in all that time. Virtually no paths, although we did use a track for 20 mins or so on day 2 (B class). That made it hard work, but not unpleasant hard work like the tussock hell we had on last year's OMM. And loads of space in the overnight field camp, which was perfect soft short grass, with no mud, no thistles, and warm enough to lie around comatose next to the tent until the sun went down. Our thanks to all the organisers for a great weekend. I'm waiting to see the final results now - we were 9th out of 13 teams at the end of day 1 due to a couple of navigation cockups. Think we may have pulled a couple of places back yesterday though.
...and if the clag had been down I suspect we'd still be trying to find day 1 checkpoints now. Some of the terrain was pretty complicated. Sign us up for next year! Now I'd better get back to unpacking my gear. I'm not sure I'll be able to tell where one sock ends and the next begins...
I think someone's working on posting the results now. I just checked the website, & "RESULTS2010" have been appearing & disappearing from the homepage, but weren't linked to anything. I tried guessing the results URL but without success.
