Just plotted route for this, certainly multiple route choices in several places. Doesn't look like it will be as muddy as 2008 route..... or am I tempting fate?

Getting thoroughly excited for this now, especially with the sunshine today! Just one small problem... one of our team members has had to drop out, so if you, or anyone you know, would be up for running the long route please let me know!

Muchos appreciated! See you there anyway if not!

Im doing the 27, was very tempted to do the longer one but after the kipling kaper I think it may be a bit far.

I surprised myself with a 36 completion, all be it very slow and laboured. I hadn't even expected to turn up but was glad I made this the start of what I hope may be a comeback. What a gorgeous day it was too. Good to meet Turbo Tom, Drunkeneuphoria and many others at the start, and good to shuffle round with Mike and Yvonne. You made great company.

    I can hardly walk now.

Well done Nick. Good to see you at the start. You on for Grasmere Fells and Tarns and the Fellsman now?

    Hi footlesscrow,
I'm reserving judgement on Fells & Tarns to see how the foot recovers. (The knee, on the other hand, will accept whatever I give it and be grateful.)
The Fellsman may be doubtful but I will travel up for the weekend anyway, regardless.

For anyone who may be interested I finished my unexpected race report this evening, with pictures (I know you like those)

No problem. Karen's to thanks for the pics - I was a bit sad a set off like a gazelle at the front so I'd get on her 'start picture'. I know I'm not the only one to have thought about it...!

Great day out, the sun came out to play, navigation was easy enough and not to boggy under foot. The organisation was good with plenty of friendly volunteers at the check points handing out food and drink. You even get a good feed at the end.

Best of all i beat my previous time from 2 years ago by 2 1/2 hours. The final positive was finding a pic of me on the web site, although at 20 ish miles i look like i'm about to drop.
