I did a second CVR on 28th March in 3h 04min. Hoping to get under 3h sometime later this year if I'm ever allowed to run again. Diagnosed with nasty illness yesterday affecting arteries in my head so will be out of action for a while. (see my thread under 'Health').

I hope things go well Strider and you are back in action soon. Good luck.

    Re: Calder Valley Round

Cancellation of a meeting this afternoon so did the round as a last minute decision; great weather and a nice route. A little fannying around to find route now and again but description of route accurate and very good.

    Time:3hours 2 minutes

    Club: Calder Valley

Will do it again in next couple of weeks so time should improve as the route is more familiar. I know the results wont be counted until July but the route is still worth a bash, especially if the sun is shining.

    Onwards and Upwards

Did a CVR this morning and completed in 3:21. Will be having another go to try to nudge to under 3. I spent far too long wandering between Gibson & Staups Mill covering every bit of grass and backtracking! Great route, enjoyed it.

    Re: Calder Valley Round

Also did the CVR today. My second time round so no problems with navigation.
    My Splits were:
    Old Town Milll: 27mins
    Gibson Mill: 47 mins
    Staups Mill: 1:27
    Stoodley Pike: 2:04
    Track Junction: 2:23
    Park cottages: 2:36
    Finish: 2:44:22
After a 6 min break to change shirt and have food/drink I then set off on another lap this time going Clockwise. My splits were:
    Park cottages: 11mins
    Track Junction: 26 mins
    Stoodley Pike: 1:04
    Staups Mill: 1:49
    Gibson Mill: 2:46
    Old Town Milll: 3:19
    Finish:3:53:46

Total time inc rests 6hr 44 mins.
Found the second lap really hard work right from the off. Would have been much better to pace myself over first lap, but wanted to post a good time in case the second lap didn't come off. Found it a bit warm today and didn't carry enough drink (had to stop and fill up my bottle at a few houses on route!). Good BGR training. Now for some big days in the Lakes in prep for 26th June.
May be back for another two laps in a couple of weeks, eh Rodders?
