Has anybody got a map of the new route please .
If I get time tomorrow...
I'll scan & email you with a route map,
unless of course I'm beated to it by SteveT,
who may very well post a map to go with this http://www.cs.man.ac.uk/temples-bin/...&f=kinder-trog !!!?!
It would help if you emailed me, contact details under the Kinder Trial Race Info @ http://www.cs.man.ac.uk/~temples/hc/
PS - It's a Kracking Route...almost the Hayfield Skyline!
Try this ... http://www.cs.man.ac.uk/temples-bin/...mg&d=hc&f=trog
Cheers...
Thanks Steve, straight on the case as ever!
And, thanks for announcing 3 Days in May too.
Beat me to it. I ran round the route this morning from New Mills (19 miles, since you ask, maybe a Sett Valley skyline?) and noticed that a) the path up from the Chunal Road crossing has been laid with gritstone hardcore on several key sections which make it more trog-able and b) the trod going up to Big Stone is now visible from Peep o'Day. I'm sure that it wasn'y so a few years ago.
thanks for that lads![]()
It's worth noting that the Sett is the only reliable natural source of water on the whole race. The Kinder at the Downfall was bone-dry today and can dry after only 3-4 days without rain in the summer. There's a water table just before the Chunal road crossing.
Looks a good course.
Best not tell the grump about this thread![]()
is this the same route as last year or is it a new new route?
