It was just after your impromptu mud bath that I caught up to you, I thought I’d had it bad sinking in the brow stuff to just above my knees until I saw you muddied to the waist.

First time I have done this race, had a cracking time, and was hoping for a better position but still recovering from a chest infection which slowed me down on the up hill bits (well that’s my excuse)

Thanks to Des and his team for putting the race on, really enjoyed it

Excellent race - first fell race this year owing to an assortment of not very good excuses!

Had a fair few splodges in the bog, but nothing as fun as some of you seem to have achieved - I'll try harder next year!

Started off slow, and as a result was comfortable most of the way around, gaining places all of the way. Was baulked by lady on final descent, so improvised and hurdled the fence next to the final stile. Could not catch the next lady though....

Sunburn has just about worn off!

Many thanks to organizers for a fantastic event!

    See you next year!

    Crowden Horseshoe

After running up and down the hills for over 23 years this will be the first time I have done this race, it's in our club h/cap, is it nice and simple or are there any tricky bits, it don't look too bad on paper and I would like to win 22pts, so come on all you Dark people pass your secrets on to me and I promise I won't tell any of my club runners

Not any more Route up follows PW so no problems there, A few steep rocky bits, A couple of stream crossings high up but they have very little water in at the moment but beware they are usually very slippy. then on to the slabs which are invisable from a distance but they do appear.

Way off from the Lump used to be tricky but there is trod now followed by a big post/cairn marking the way. From there it gets rougher but a trod all the way back to the track, watch out for the turning off below the quarry by the stile(should be marked and have spectators)
