Now then, young Tom. A word of advice. The poor South Wales sheep have suffered years of abuse from...well, you know what they say about the preferred partnerrs of young squires in these here parts. So the sight a young lad charging about the hillsides naked from the waist up is likely to upset them even more. So be a good lad and, next time when you race in these here parts, put a ruddy vest on!
If you liked Cribyn you will also enjoy Pen Y Fan. Its even faster but at least the descent does not twist your ankles off your legs!

Rubbish! I'm thinking of making all men run without vests next year.. (over 18s only of course)

That would be a freak show of humungous proportion.....and the sheep would explode!
Is it just me or is anyone else suffering from severe Peroneal DOMS (outer shin pain) in their left leg after that lovely downhill diagonal traverse?
    Oooowwww!

I'll be there!!!! Maybe over 18's and under 50's might be a better idea!!!

Shame I missed it this year but not able to do more than 3-4 miles on the flat at the moment. And nice positive photo Wheeze!

Not another bare chest! Where did you find that - or more accurately where did the proud owner decide to start to expose himself (or herself??!!)

Of course Turbo Tom was not the only flasher. R Powell started it quite early on and serial stripper M Blake was semi naked at the prize giving so don't give TT too much of a hard time Wheeze.

Aye, too true WH. Ross, please eat up, yer all skin and bone, man! Almost as skinny as Don!!!!!
Must say, I was truly impressed by the age range in the race from pre-shavers through KOS's to decrepit zimmer pushers....hats off to all of you..us. Fantastic to see us all out there, all mixing it up, giving it hell. Al Tye's pics are a brilliant addition to the race experience as they allow you to appreciate the whole field and what they went through.

Zimmers might be quite an advantage going up the North face of Cribyn! I'd certainly like to try it with some of those funny sticks that they sell by the thousand at the outdoor shops in Betws y Coed.

    Cribyn Race 2013

    Hi

I'm just getting a plug in for my race, the Cribyn, in the Brecon Beacons, Sat 27th April at 1pm:

    http://home.cribynrace.org.uk/

It clashes with the Three Peaks, but if you fancy something more low key, it's worth the trip to South Wales. Just don't think it's an easy option, at 5.5m and 3100 feet of ascent it is tough. It's a proper, trad fell race with the entire course on the open fell. Lots of home made cake for everyone, and i'm working on getting a bottle of Cribyn beer for each entrant. No cash prizes any more i'm afraid as it costs me so much to get there from Yorkshire, but £50 for breaking the record. Only £5 to enter so cheaper than the 3 Peaks too

If anyone wants to make a weekend of it, a few of us are going to be at Cwm Gydi in camper vans from Friday night for food and banter, all welcome the more the merrier.

    Helen
