I spoke to JC this morning, I'm hoping to meet up with Spyke next Saturday-Sunday possibly to go in to Torridons-Fisherfields. Depends on weather and on what I get done Thursday-Friday

Stephen Watts just emailed me and said Spyke has finished with the Cuillin and is moving on.

Ian, You sure you will have recovered from "OCT" by then? Ha Ha. Say hello to Spyke for me.

Its going to get busy around Spyke from Sunday then - I'm heading up to cover the final days with him, and I think Tom Brunt and Swatts are going to be around too. The more the merrier, I guess! There are some BIG days planned up there, with the Beinn a Claidheimh ridge and the Fannichs one day, foliowed by the Beinn Dearg group the next ..... Big hills for little legs!

Hope you all have a great time over the next ten days. Only wish I could make it. Your going have to be fit to keep up with Spyke.

At this rate he should be back in time to support JW on his Paddy Buckley attempt 4/5th June.

I spoke to JohnC just now - Spkye is heading from Strathfarrar out to Achnashellach today, so presumably he's done the N.Cluanie hills, Strathfarrar and the Morar hills. He's going well despite meeting alot of fresh snow on the tops. He'll be posting more details on the blog when he gets enough of a signal!
Heading up to join him over the closing stages - can't wait!

"Then we get to camp in the Cluanie carpark with the "sweet" stink of dead dear wafting through the van, well makes a change from socks and other perfumes, those who know Spyke well will know what I mean!!!"

A nice turn of phrase from the blog!

Re: Ben More to Ben Hope

Met up with first with JC in a VERY wet carpark in Torridon Steve Watts Turned up soon after nursing his ankle leaving Spyke to continue alone in thick clack rain and snow, The weather was truely appaulling but eventually Spyke jogged in with a smile on his face aroud 8.00pm

Plans were made and Tom Brunt took his Tent round to walk in to Fisherfield/Fannichs in case the botthy was full

After he ate his third helping of stew he then moved on to dessert!! I've no idea where he put it all.
We were up early for Spyke to cycle to Kinlochewe before setting off up Slioch, For some one on a mission he was very relaxed, Both Steve W and myself left him to meet Tom after the descent as we both needed to start heading home the following day.

The weather next morning however was superb and I managed a pre breakfast "run" up Liathach before heading back. the Ben being visible 60 miles away!! so Spyke would have had 2 truly special big days. If all goes to plan he should finish this thursday.

Thanks for the update Ian, Hope you had a good few good days. Wonder what Spyke will be up to next. JC told me they were both starting to feel a little sad that the journey was nealy over.

    Hi Dale

For the first time they started talking about what they were going to do afterwards! I don't think there were any plans made for after Thursday but maybe a few days off before the drive home. Wish I could be there tomorrow.

Bumped in to Mandy and Martin in on the hill just East of Glen Spean....
