The octal numeral system, or oct for short, is the base-8 number system, and uses the digits 0 to 7. Numerals can be made from binary numerals by grouping consecutive binary digits into groups of three (starting from the right). For example, the binary representation for decimal 74 is 1001010, which can be grouped into (00)1 001 010 — so the octal representation is 112.
Well why did i not think of that???
does anybody know if the split results for the long race are going to be available?
I was 170th/171 overall, but I'd be interested to see how I did from Caw-Finish as I found a bit of energy from somewhere in a desperate attempt to duck under 6 hours![]()
They certainly published them in 2008 because I have a copy.
Anyway Daz, why not add the DNFs to the total, that's what I do! Then you'll be 171/183! I'm actually considering assuming I beat all of those who didn't show up as well, all in the quest for a top half finish!![]()
63 Mr X someclub M40 4.07.31
136 Mr Z Helm Hill M40 4.50.42
If Messrs X and Z would like LCT points perhaps they would reveal themselves.

Daz I daresay the split times will be available in the fullness of time. Anyway as you were mere seconds behind me at the finish my split for Caw-finish was 24:46 as a rough guide for you - I did not take the best line off Cawhowever my split was faster than Fleeter
Deejay I admire your valiant attempts to get in the top half.
that's 170th/183 thankyou very much!
and I usually consider myself to've finished ahead of all the people who didn't even enter, and stayed sat at home on their sofas - this puts me into the elite category!
I took a far from ideal line off Caw, but still got down in 20:??![]()
This is a championship race this year yet it says over 21 on the entry form-is this right?
Sorry about that: they'll be up soon. Some time next week, with any luck, as I'll be using the same system to show Black Combe results.
I think so, but I'm often wrong. I checked before I put the form up and as FellJunior says, only the short and medium count towards the U23 champs. The Duddon has always been over 21s only.
