From Ruthin direction take the A494 towards Mold. At Llanbedr go past the church (on your left) there's a minor left turn at the next RH bend. This is the back road to Loggerheds which avoids Llanferres. Top of the hill is the car park/start (£1). Coming from Mold you take the A494 towards Ruthin - through Loggerhaeds past petrol garage on right then there's a minor right turn signposted Tafarn y Gelyn - follow this to the top of the mountain.
Postcode at Llanbedr is LL15 1UP
Postcode at Loggerheads is CH7 5LH

As Martins says, the record is very soft. I'm sure a decent runner could take a good 3 or 4 minutes out of it. I think Gilbo is turning out for it, but due to a nasty winter/spring of injuries I don't think that he'll be able to break it this year. Locally, it would be good to see what the Davies brothers, Ricky Challinor or some of the Eryri boys could do.

The weather forecast looks like it will make for a fantastic evening in the hills. I won't be there this year as I fly out to do Ironman France at silly o'clock the following morning......I hope to be recovered for The Druid.

    Happy miles.
    I'd smash it ;-)

All the best in France Ian. Hope to catch up soon to see how you get on.

Us Tattenhallers love this and all of Martins races, a superb series that must be able to lay claim to many a fellracing virginity - we usually have one or more of the summer trots as a club counter to get people into the sport and it works!! Expect a loud and happy throng of blue and gold at either end of the field and in the middle as well!

I'm a regular at this race but am working in nottingham at the moment. THe tempatation to commute back and do it is tempting indeed. It's the getting up and driving back to nottm on thursday that's really putting me off. If i see you there folks, i'll be the one dashing out of the car as you're all lined up. If it proves too much, or i cant get out of work early, have a terrific race - it's such a little corker :-)

I like the fact that the Tattenhallers give their last runner in a guard of honour! aka at the beast last Tuesday!

    Martin, you do yourself a disservice. Is this not the 6th year you've been organising Hotfoot up Famau? From memory;

    2005 Tim won
    2006 I won
    2007 I won
    2008 The Stig won
    2009 Tim won

If Anna turns up I think she could smash her record - & perhaps mine :-) - as she's in great form & descending better than ever.

Are you running the same route as last year? If so, is it any longer/shorter than 2005 to 2008?

    Have a great evening everyone.

Can't do it myself, Martin, as my ligaments are still in a mess from a fall on the Carneddau but I will bring a gang of Pensby Runners along tonight. See you there.

Gosh you're right! Doesn't time fly!!

Last night it was Jez Brown (37.09 which would have beaten you in 2005!) from Neil Parry and Peter Taylor. Ladies were 1- Laura Bestow (42.23 a time only ever beaten by Anna), 2 - Jane Ashcroft and 3 - Sandra Rowlands. Course has changed slightly but still same distance and ascent.
