I see that the official Race Info omits checkpoint 7 at the wall crossing on the descent off Lingmell. Was this the case last year?

You do have to go over the wall, via a ladder/steps, coming off Lingmell Nose.

I'd suggest that's just a minor error, by the organiser, in leaving off that checkpoint.

BTW your link is broken; it needs an 'ls' adding onto the end of the address.

I am marshalling on Scafell Pike on Sat for a 3 peaks event, hopefully between lingmel col and the summit. Really looking forward to seeing the race go past, was so impressed last year, especially as some of those at the front end looked so fresh!!! Good luck to all who are taking part, hopefully i'll join you one year.

I didn't do the race last year, but I thought that there was a slight change to the route off Lingmell because of some NT path work that was going on. I wondered if this was the reason for the lack of ckpt 7.

Richard Eastman has just replied to my email and confirmed that the Lingmell Nose checkpoint is still there, so no cutting down Brown Tongue!

He has updated the pdf on the CFRA website now too.
