Depending on how Grimsthorpe Ultra (70 miles) goes a fortnight before, I fancy this one.

I entered this ages ago thinking (like DT) that it'd be similar to the Wuthering Hike - a bit more ascent maybe, but also a couple of miles shorter. However, having read this thread, looked at the course profile, and reviewed last year's finishing times, I'm now thoroughly worried.
I reckon I could need 9/10 hours for this. (That's despite normally doing the Trollers in about 4:30, Daz!) Can anyone confirm the cut-off arrangements? I thought you had to finish inside 8 hours, but I must be wrong as nearly half last year's field would have been disqualified if that had been the case.

Tussockface, one thing to bear in mind is it was very hot last year. I guess it cost a lot of folk 30 - 45mins

I am toying with this but not sure with it being just 2 weeks after The Lakeland 100 decision decisions
The older I get the Faster I was
Just been looking through last year's times & comparing them to those for last year's High Peak 40 (which I ran). The Long Tour is 8 miles shorter (almost 9 when I measure it actually), and has about 250ft more climbing. And yet times for the Long Tour were only a few minutes quicker than the HP40 on average. The hot weather and (presumably) harder conditions underfoot must account for the difference in speed. I did the HP40 in 7:45 last year, so I'm going to aim for 7:30 in the Long Tour, and hope for 7:15.

Tussockface - there's a 5 hour cut-off at the Ladybower dam, and 10 hours overall
I actually like the fact that this is not a typical LDWA course - I prefer routes with as little flattish stuff as possible
but I'm still revising my estimate to 8:30
Scramble the rock face through the glare of morning sun — to run
After much thought I'm not going to do this, I'll do a much flatter 53 miler the following weekend instead.
