I'd have thought the Dead Kennedys / Cheeky Girls link was far more obscure!

Encouraged by Eavesy, I've done a bit of research, and I will link to Atari Teenage Riot thusly:

V/Vm (a sonic artist from Stockport) has a track/piece called 'There's a Guy Works Down the Chipshop, Swears he's Merzbow', and in October '98 appeared on the cover of Wire magazine and was part of an article 'Harder!Louder!Faster!' that explored the development of a new scene that also included Alec Empire, he of...Atari Teenage Riot (one of my favourite band names ever). So:

Too Dead for Me - Atari Teenage Riot

SS I applaud you, not only have you expressed interest but you've also come up with a quality link to a good band. V/Vm test press records have put out some great stuff in there time including the mighty Aphex twin. The absolute quality link I was taking about was that Thurston Moores dog is called Merzbow which would have been a great link to Sonic Youth. Though SS I'm impressed all the same. Thanks

Favourite songs? Far from it. Infact out of all the songs posted none were my favourite from any of the artisits. It was merely done in an attempt to take the chain away from the drab shite of the cheeky girls and onto something a little more obscure which would require some thought. After all the whole reason for the chain on r2 is for people to think about music and it's links, and for listeners to learn something new and often be put in touch with artists they may otherwise not hear. Do you think Radcliffe would select the like's of the cheeky girls or cotton eye joe? I think not. And before you state they wouldn't play any of my selection, that really doesn't matter as the greatest radio Dj the world has ever and will ever see did - the mighty John Peel.

Sorry multiterrainer, not a single death metal track or artist posted in there.
