    Ingleborough junior race Sat 1

My son wants to race on Saturday at Ingleton. The website indicates that the junior race is U/14 & U/18 combined & about 4 mls/800ft. He is U/12 at FRA/Bofra races and this feels quite a step up from those in terms of distance/ascent.

Just wondered what experiences folk have in terms U/12s racing this distance with U/18s.

    Cheers
    Duncan

This race has a FRA permit and therefore the distance restrictions apply.
    U12 - 2 miles.
    U14 - 3 miles.
    U16 - 4 miles.
Suggest you contact the race organiser to check whether he is running multiple courses within one race so as to comply.

I seem to remember the junior races started on the track that the main race goes on after coming off the Chapel-Le-Dale road and there seemed to be various turn round points depending on age cat.

    Thanks Ady,
    I wasn't sure.
David is a very experienced organiser, so he will have it all worked out.

Its nowhere near 800ft mate i did it last year.
They run 2 age catagories in the same race u/14s and u/18s.
TBH they arent really fell races more a trail race

Thanks Tom, I recieved the following for David re junior race:--

The junior race follow the same route, but they turn at Crina Bottom Farm, the route is not flagged, but all but ½ mile of the junior race is on the walled track to the farm, they return tby the same route until they enter the village, distance about 4 miles, 800 ft of climbing

So I guess we'll see when we get there, Are you going again Tom?
