Great photos from Dave. I fancy I am just visible in the background of the first half dozen frames.

All the best, Ian. I only had that issue once, 20 years ago, when the Regimental Medical Officer described me as an excessively fit officer. I was rather over-doing things at the time, long commutes, Staff College course, and training two and sometimes three times a day. You may have noticed I've slowed down a bit. My training for races now principally comprises of the previous weekend's race.

By the trig point at the high point on the slabs, before that slalom-like section, Danny was in 8th, just off the back, myself and Graham Pearce were trying to catch up with Lloyd who himself was dropping off behing Rob, Pete, Karl and Darren. By the little bridge crossing before the final climb up to the road crossing Karl had got ahead of Pete with Darren & Rob twenty seconds behind. Myself and Lloyd were a similar 10-20 seconds behind, with Graham just behind. Karl was very strong on the mile or so run in, along with Darren in second. Pete, having led for most of the race faded a little, allowing myself and Rob to overtake. I think by then the positions were pretty much settled.

A fairly accurate description by Ben, I felt a bit sorry for Pete who led for around 80% of the race, doing the lion's share of the pacemaking and route finding. At no point until the last 2 miles did I have a clue where I was !!! Check out the race report of Grahams here http://www.pudseybramley.com/page4.htm then have a laugh at the valmalenco race report while your there!

Even with another years racing/training/general running 'in my legs', I've decided I'm not doing it this year, as I suffered enough last year.

However a club-mate has decided to have a go at it, well, I think there's ony one mad enough (or possibly 2!), so look out for anyone in an 'Ackworth Road-Runners' vest

I have thought about going out on the bike on Sunday, down Holmfirth way, & timing my ride so I'm at the top of 'the Moss' as the runners come over on their way out - just to shout 'encouragement' at him
