Alexandra makes a perfectly valid observation that the lighter weight shoes that use the "performance" last are toe-squeezers, and those of us with wide feet and uncomfortable with squozen toes still want the LIGHTEST LEAST cushioned shoes that we can get.

I've a pair of each to try on but will almost certainly be going for the mudclaw varient. Not seen them yet or the colour.

OROC 340 HERE
It shows the Endurance rubber logo on the product page but infact the OROC sole is a combination of both Endurance & Sticky rubber.
The outer edge studs are Sticky rubber, the square studs that hold the Tungsten Carbide "Dobs" is Endurance rubber.
From what I understand this is the first time a dual compound rubber sole has been available on a off road shoe.

Now in possession of my 340's, heel looks better than other models and although they feel a bit on the heavy side i can cope with that. They feel very comfortable though.

I'll use them at Borrowdale and in two weeks on the DP BG. Report to follow

How are people finding Orocs? Or is it too early to say, as they seem to be 'grip anything' shoes designed with winter in mind?

Fresh in from swimming but daughter still wants to play so briefly here goes...

Those at Borrowdale will know it was very wet and claggy

Yes they felt heavy but comfortwise i found them excellent. After getting used to the clicking when running I found that descending loose gravely paths and steep grass they were very good, same on the climbs.

Crossing some of the big boulders of Scafell/Gable etc I found they were no worse than my mudclaws and on occasion were better. Polished flat rock though they were worse but you can't have every thing. The build quality seems better but only time will tell. I think they will be a superb winter show where mixed snow and ice on paths need the extra grip. Perfect for a winter BG

Too heavy for the serious racer though
