Tried them today. I feel that there is a slight curve downwards near the toe section which lowers the toe part of my foot too much, almost touching the ground.
Thinking of getting some of these as a replacement for the Roclite 315s I do the vast majority of my running in. The comments on here all seem great.
Was considering NB MT110, but they don't seem available and they might be more of a racer anyway.
Currently £39 on the Sports Direct site.
The Roclite have been great, but don't want to spend £70+ on a training shoe.
Highly recommend a pair of these.
Very comfy and extremely durable. An excellent all round off road trainer (even cope with those roads to the fellside without worrying about wear). They cope with most terrain admirably though the studs aren't deep enough to be suited to steep wet/muddy descents at race speeds.
Depends just how heavy you are with your tyres, but one pair (I'm on my third pair) should get you around a full year's worth of training at around 30-35 miles per week. That's very good mileage! In my case, the uppers out last the sole which I don’t think I’ve ever had with any other trainer (e.g. either my tootsies break through, or they simply start separating from the sole).
You can get them for £37 at Sports Direct if you choose the less popular colour schemes.
Thanks for that. Sounds great. Might be ordering them by the end of the day. Most of my running is on hard-packed trails, grassy and gravelly footpaths, with the odd bit of road in between or on the way. They seem really good, especially for £37-40.
Oh, just to affirm what WP mentioned earlier. You need a few miles to take the 'gloss' or 'film' off the studs. A training run on a rocky trail should suffice.
I have recently had a pair of these and I have found that they are great - very comfy. A little more padding than my old 315s and I am well delighted with them so far. Im going to do the Fellsman in them, I just hope that they get through the kit check - I cant see why not, virtually brand new.
Love these as a walking shoe, or for longer stuff over wet trail (as opposed to fell). Do get the odd blisters on the big toe though. And lost grip running round the SW coast in Feb: the lugs seem to hold clay a bit too well...but I s'pose that's the same for most shoes.
Bought a pair from Millets about a month ago, I think they are good value, fine for trails and a reasonable grip on muddy and grassy paths. It will allow me to save my Innov8 for the fells
Another vote. Both myself and my daughter have a pair. They last for ages in particular the uppers. The main thing is that unlike most 'trail shoes' they are not clumpy. Mine have lost most grip now so i tend to use them for road running in the snow.
