Very very very windy and it wasn't a pleasant ride until I turned for home. Only seen two other bikies out today. I too spentba fair time in the 39 ring. Just too windy.
All of the roads around here are crap - just as well I do all my mileage on a full sus MTB!!

Gentle 16 miler for me today. More bikies out round here than normal, it's not much of bike town round here.

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

I am back into the swing of things... did an hour on the crosser Saturday eve, with Mr H on my MTB, and three hours steady and hilly, in the 39 ring, this morning, followed by an hours running along a coastal path up and down cliffs along the south coast of Wales, as part of the Runners World 'Coasters' relay...

Now, will I be back to reasonable fitness in time for 3 Peaks CX?

Time will tell... planning on running every morning for 45 mins or so before work this week, followed by an hour on the crosser after work and before dark... then see if I can manage a 4 hour ride and a one hour run next Sunday...

Weekend report: 50 miles on Friday in the pouring rain, over the Bwlch in horrendous conditions, utterly miserable in a kind of satisfying sort of way. Muse at Wembley on Saturday, utterly brilliant, shame about the lack of transport infrastructure around the national stadium......doh....
Sunday cruising 30 miles out in the Vale, very pleasant, bike now dry!

Did you clean the bike down before the Muse concert:thumbup:. Whenever Ive done Wembley Ive stayed in the Premier Inn 100 yds away from it. Not the best hotel but worth it just cos you aint got to get on the tube etc after the concert.

You know Daz, given the saga we had to get back that would have been a very good idea.
And yes(ish), a quickie, so to speak, I promise to do better in future.

Nice 20 miles round Cave creek. Saw a Coyote, rattle snake, Lizzards and a few Eagles. Oh and some Road runners ( yes, the birds!).

    Daz'ington.

What oil do you use on your chain...and any other lubes you use - On your bike!

Ive always used some castrol 'hypo' gear oil. It was my grandad's...and he died 11 years ago. But its vertually untouched and seems to do the job.

My Focus Black Forest Pro 2010 arrived from wiggle the other monday night....OH MY DAYS...its beautiful!!!

Took it for an epic spin on sunday and got caked in mud and loved it.

Cleaned it down thinking of daz h...and oiled all three of my bike's chains.

Daz, you'll love how I store my bikes! My dads a joiner and he's come up with a belter of a solution - Only issue is that ive no idea how to upload full size pictures to show you.
