    I suppose that is right

Last year I was really surprised about the fact that we started off at about 30 mph, like any odd road race! I was glad I accidentally positioned myself at the front. I could not get further back after a last minute loo stop, even though my expected time was slower than where I was at the start... lots of exploding tubes and bashing and crashing behind me apparently...

I shall be trying to ride again later on, road bike...

Took a tumble fell running wednesday eve... fell exactly on the same cuts on hand and elbow, so they opened up again and managed to damage my elbow even further by chipping the ulna so haven't been on the bike or running yesterday or this morning yet...

Oh dear Hann, you're in the wars at the moment - good luck at the PPP is it tomorrow

Well I managed to get on my bike today - just a shade over 4 and a half hours worth

No idea how far though as my flippin garmin went kaputen on me just as I was heading out the door, no matter how much I shook it, bashed it or chucked it, the thing wouldn't work. Still managed to have a fab ride and hardly saw anyone!

Went all round the lanes of Bowland (Longridge, Chipping etc) then onto Whitewell and Dunsop Bridge heading into the Trough of Bowland....after 4 hours of hills I was getting a bit fed up and cursing the 12/27 and had just got onto the flat A6 when some dude in his quickstep outfit came hooning past...harumph....immediate intake of a shot block followed with me then in hot pursuit, - jeeezuz he was quick, caught him a few miles on and was praying to God he was going straight on at the lights but the bugger turned right just as I did...arrghhh....this then meant 3 miles or so of me breathing out my backside along side him whilst he blathered on about his bike racing/triatherlonning and spin instructing!! Nice guy mind but I was well and truly bolloxed and have no idea what speed we were doing as I was too focused on trying to breathe! I was SO glad when the bugger headed off in the opposite direction where I immediately turned the corner and almost came to a grinding halt with exhaustion! On the back of 4 hours I probably should learn not to chase the man on the bike?!

Anyway - a very eventful day on the whole, (I'll be typing all night if I even begin to waffle on about it) I'm starting to think it can only happen to me!

    My legs ache now.

54 miles for me into the peak. I rode to winster and back in a roundabout sort of way. Up past the mushroom makers house. Headwind going out but lovely coming back down the a6. Not many other bikies out but rode past a lady towing one of these trailers. Very impressed and she was very pretty. We exchanged hellos through mattock and she said she was heading to bake well. Bless her, not easy towing one of those in the peak.
    4 1/2 hrs , well done Emma. Nice one.

Sorry to hear of your fall hanne

Blimey some good rides in the last of the good weather. Just 25 miles for me in a late afternoon sneak, but a fairly taxing little outing, up the dreaded Ponty golf course climb, as steep as Devils staircase but longer then some minor lumps on the way home feeling very ill. Ave of only 14 tells the story!

Nowt wrong with 14 average toffer when your feeling a bit flat. If I'm not feeling right I tend to actually go a lot slower and take in the scenery more. It's surprising what you see.
It was colder yesterday as well.
The vuelta will be decided today, don't forget that on eurosport. My man nibali no 1 in general classification.
I was thinking yesterday. The sky team have got to sign Nicholas roc he . He is pure quality.
Today will see a bit more bike maintenance. The Mercian needs a polish

19 miles this morning. Took a road I'd not used before to avoid the horrible undulating road out. Looking back on the maps now I'm back, the road I took is actually hillier! Avg 15 - not bad on a full sus MTB with knobbly tyres!
