An excellent day out, and the HP40 was as hard and stony as ever. The rain held off until the early finishers were back in Buxton, which was pretty lucky considering it's hardly stopped raining since. It was cool and breezy, almost too cold for shorts & t-shirt but not quite. Ideal for running, except when heading into the breeze. Chatted to Karen at the end, and Britnick later, but didn't spot any of the rest of the forum. The food at the end's still pretty poor on this event - pity they can't put something more substantial on for such a long race. I had a great day though, taking 43 minutes off my PB!

I think this was more than made up for by the provisions on route and the welcoming reception at each checkpoint ... I was certainly look forward to reaching the checkpoints and despite the soul-destroying Flagg Lane, a great event. Thanks to all involved.

I agree completely: the checkpoint facilities are of the best, and overall it's one of the best-organised events around. My thanks go to everyone involved as well.
