time to drop this one in.... what if your daughter was pregnant??.....

A Fifteen year old single daughter tells her mother she thinks she's pregnant.

Very worried, the mother goes to the chemist and buys a pregnancy kit.

The test result shows that the girl is pregnant.

Shouting, cursing, crying, the mother demands, "Who was the pig that did this to you? I want to know!"

The girl picks up the phone and makes a call.

Half an hour later, a Ferrari stops in front of their house, a mature and distinguished man with grey hair, and impeccably dressed in an Armani suit, steps out of the Ferrari and enters the house.

He sits in the living room with the father, mother and the girl, and tells them: "Good morning. Your daughter has informed me of the problem. I can't marry her because of my personal family situation but I'll take charge? I will pay all costs and provide for your daughter for the rest of her life.

Additionally, if a girl is born I will bequeath her two retail stores, a townhouse, a country house and a $5,000,000 bank account...

If a boy is born, my legacy will be a couple of factories and a $10,000,000 bank account?

If twins, they will receive a factory and $5,000,000 each?

However, if there is a miscarriage, what do you suggest I do?"

At this point, the father, who had remained silent throughout, places a hand firmly on the man's shoulder and tells him: "You f*ck her again."

    so what

in the early nineties housing was as dear then
i remember signing up for a 38 grand mortgage and having a second job to support it
interest rates went up to 15 per cent and i was paying £699 a month then
all this talk of costs to high
you have just spent £4000 on a bike , throughout my apprenticeship i saved like billy ho , amanda did as well , and we put down about £ 6000 then as deposit
you would probably need £20,000 deposit now
well jobs are a plenty so get out there and get saving

my grandad moaned at the cost of his first house £ 200
my dad moaned at the cost of his first house £ 2,000
i moaned at the cost of our first house £ 38,000
my son will moan at the cost of his first house , £ 150,000
and his kids will prob moan as well

    Almost anyone....

There are two key differences between now and the early nineties:

    - firstly, the ratio of house prices to average incomes is far higher now than then. Prices now are 8x earnings, set to rise to 9.2x in 2011 (an average house price of £300k)

    - secondly, in the early nineties inflation was much higher. This meant that annual pay rises rapidly eroded real mortgage payments.

    Hope this helps...

Oooo pay rise - so what will you spend you extra money on?

I got paid yesterday it makes me happy to have funds in my bank again (even if I will have spent it all by next week )

No run today (finishing off assignments) and no decorating because I am just too busy (oh and i hate decorating)
