I hope the chap who broke his leg gets well soon.

The runner who fell near the start was from my club. He seemed OK when we picked him up and got him out of the way and he told us to keep going, but it turned out he cut his side somehow and had to go to hospital to get patched up.

If he is on one of the orthopaedic wards i think they are no.35 nad 36, directly above the A&E. When my mum was in there the visiting was 2.00 to 4.00 and 6.00 to 8.00

Correct R.H. Steve was in 35 on Sunday afternoon; enter via the Centenary Building to the RHS of the A&E entrance (glass canopy) as you look from Ashton Road, and set back a bit.

NB. Please be mindful that Steve's family will want a good portion of the visiting time with him. On Sunday afternoon, I only hung around for 4 or 5 minutes, just long enough to let him know that the thoughts of the hill-going community are with him, as there were already 6 or 7 family members present.

He was holding his side when I past him, like he had landed on his pelvic bone. I would imagine thats were the injury was. There were some chunky stones in the pools and in the middle of the river.

Sounds nasty though Amex. Really hope you mend quickly, speedy recovery vibes coming your way.
I couldn't agree more... a speedy recovery Steve from what sounds like a VERY nasty injury. Try not to get too frustrated.

    Look after yourself.
