Route descriptions Here for all routes
the "Running Route" looks like the 16M jobby

Am I right in thinking that the 23M running option is the same route as the "Long Walk Route"?

Ian - if you're sweeping, I guess you'll be seeing a lot of me!

Thinking the bog monster could be fairly peckish if the forecast rain arrives this week....
Will most likely head out though, I've been missing the Outer Edge recently

    Yes there's plenty of room

You can run the long route but the race is the 16 miler, I'll be sweeping the race.

But you should be up with me by the time the race starts. I'll see you all then.

Looks like me & Mrs Stagger will be gossiping our way around this one

IDP, thanks for the MM file but can't get it to work (I am a bit of a computer numpty) Not to worry though as have found your link to the route descriptions & am going for highlighter on map option, much simpler

So, if we want to run (slooooowly) the long walkers route are we still on for an 8am start?

He'd been dropping some leaflets in, & it appears that one of our lovely young Nurses is interested in the event!
I have already offered to accompany her................

(bearing in mind that it's the Cyclo-Cross at Temple Newsam the next day, so no flogging myself over the course)
I still fancy the 16-miler*, & it's my weekend off, but SWMBO hasn't given me a 'day-pass' yet, and I need one for the 'cross' on Sunday
(plus, I'm possibly entering the 'Ackworth Road-Runners 5-mile XC-Race' in the morning, before the 'cross)

*That's unless, I can be a real 'wuss' & run the 'family' route (might get clearance for that one, so she can visit friends near Denby Dale for a while)

So, I guess I'm still on the 'undecided' list

Sorry Socks but i think there is a small breakdown in comunication.

Long course starts at 0800 If people want to walk, run, hop, skip, jump, pogo round the long course(don't reccomend this), so be it, but its technically the long walk so it starts 0800. The reason being that some of the early checkpoint marshals have to be elsewhere 2-3 hours later.

    Short course starts at 0800

    Runners course starts at 1000
    This is the race route

    Family Route starts at 1100

I agree that perhaps it should say Long Start and Race Start to be clearer, I'll make sure this is changed for next year.

I'll send you a PM to Confirm.

    Ey up,

The long route runners that I know of so far are myself, Dr Kitchen, Datt, Daz the Slug and Rodders (the last two gentlemen I'll finally get to meet!)

    Anyone else???
