Yup, we're staying in Edinburgh on the Saturday evening.....well, the rest of them are. I'm staying with my brother & meeting my new baby niece.

Preliminary plan is for me to be Gil's bitch on the first leg.

I've heard you can't make it, they'll miss you.

Ah, thanks for bringing that to my attention Iain. I've not ran for 90+mins since June.

Will you be doing Leg One with Shorty?

No, think Ill be doing nav leg..

Reckon leg 1 will be a 65-70 minutes, didn't they guess 63 winning time..

team isn't too set yet, think there will be further discussions in the car..

    That would be better news for me, but from race pack;

"Leg 1: AM (pairs) Estimated winning time 80-90 mins
Leg 2: AS (solo) Estimated winning time 35-40 min
Leg 3: O (pairs) Estimated winning time 60 mins.
Leg 4: AS (solo) this is the same as leg 2."

No, I read shorter running times somewhere too, in the early stages. Think they have adjusted them up.

I think we tweaked upwards the estimated winning times for Legs 2 and 4, after I found it took me nearly 50 minutes to get round one Tuesday evening. There were excuses, primarily a race the previous Saturday and a 20-miler in the Cairngorms on Sunday. Gosh, I was fit once.

The stats (distance, ascent) for Leg 1 make it a little longer than the Dollar race, if that's any help. There's a lot of good, fast running too, assuming you haven't over-cooked it on the climb up the start field. No spot prize for being the first team to Maidens Castle.

We'll be setting up in the event field Saturday afternoon. Any questions, doubts, suggestions .. come and see us. Or of course just pop over to say "hello".

    Bill.

Thanks for that Bill So it will probably take me 50 minutes then... I am on leg 2...

What time is it getting dark up there now? I am coming up from S Wales on Saturday and want to be early enough to have a snoop round before dark...

It's dark by about 6:15-6:30 at moment. Are you driving or flying up?
