Cut my planned 2nd half FTOP recce short. Calves kept seizing up. Mind you, this is me first week back after a couple of weeks of nothing, and even then it's been a while since I've ran 5 times in 7 days. Think it might have been too much too soon.
Anyway, followed Ogden Clough round to the slabs, headed up these to the trig, down the trod below the walkers' path, up the cart path, down to the bottom of the banking of the upper res, sprint up the banking, along the path (parallel to the road) to the lower res, up through Fell Wood, down to the banking of the lower res, another hill sprint, and back along the road to the car park.
7.14mi in hour and a half. Beautifully clear all the way round, until I was stretching off when it started drizzling. Priceless timing.![]()

Very happy to be running in t-shirt and shorts at this time of year hehe.
I remember from last years race that steep climb up to Caradoc and The Lawley and that final not too steep, but seemingly endless climb up from the Gogbatch can be a killer right at the end of the route
